By now there should be cameras recording all areas of flight. Nose to tail, inside and out. Well, except the bathrooms.😮 A monitor screen in the cockpit can help pilots see areas they can't.

Really, really annoying having to read captions. Why can't you add a voice-over? All I get is white noise of jet engines and the burden of having to read text😒 What a waste of an otherwise good video. Not going to struggle through.

Lack of proper training. Pilots go through training in simulators on how to counter problems and failures. After the first mention of no power, the instructor should have initiated some sort of troubleshooting checklist. He did not. Apathy. When people do the same thing day in and day out they lose attention to detail.

Why in the world aren’t there fire suppression equipment in the hold? Fire in a cargo hold has taken down a handful of airplanes. How many is too many?

How many accidents is HAL going to be responsible for ? Not all automation is good . If controllers instruction had been followed no accident would have happened

NEVER use a thrird world airline. Maintenance neglect and bad pilot training cause many fatalities.

At 9:18 the plane is turning to the right, not the left. And in the first incident, was there any reason why the cabin crew, having been unable to contact the flight deck, did not initiate evacuation procedures?

My take on the situation that the pilot monitoring was either inapacitated or suicidal. There was plenty of time to identify and correct errors. Unfortunely the pilot flying deferred too much to him.

I met Capt Haynes about six months after this happened. Wonderful and very smart man. He talked to our little group of pilots for over an hour.

I was 14 years old in 1979 and had a newspaper route three days a week. I remember the picture of that airplane on it’s side when it covered half the front page of that edition. It was kind of eery looking at it with every paper I folder that morning. It was a local newspaper that mostly covered stories in and around the California desert and rarely had any national news, so it was kind weird seeing a story about a plane crash from Chicago in our little paper

TWA 800 was shot down with a missile but the Clinton spin doctors wanted to hide that truth. It was US Navy contractors demonstrating missile versus anti-missile which failed and hit TWA 800. That's why the FBI and CIA both took over what should have been an unfettered NTSB investigation and hid all the wreckage which showed clear evidence of being hit with a missile. That "zoom climb" tale is the most obviously false statement the CIA had spun up to that day.

I had a cockpit fire in the instrument panel on final. I assumed I was dead (and then I was very clam) and anything I could to salvage a walk-away landing would be a good thing.

God bless the 9 passengers who didnt make it. May god receive their souls with loving, open arms.

Among being clueless at the helm and to ATC, how do you allow 27* nose up at approach speeds before you react? Those people were doomed

I remember the day TWA 800 went down. I was at a buddy’s house & the crash site/debris images came on the news. This was before 9/11, so it was a pretty big deal…similar to the day Challenger exploded. It’s pretty impressive that the NTSB was able to recover much of the plane & reassemble it to find the actual cause. It was clearly horrible for all those on board, but I can’t help but to think of the group of school kids on their first flight & school trip to Paris. What an absolutely horrible tragedy. Rest in Paradise to all the souls lost that day. 😔🥀
